Joan Elliott's Christmas Angel

First off I want to say thank you for letting me join everyone here. I love the whole concept of the idea of posting projects we are all working on! It really has helped me find my stitchy bug again after it went astray a few weeks ago after finishing Emerald Mermaid by Mirabilia, here is a photo of the complete stitching:

I have now moved onto Joan Elliott's Christmas Angel that I have been working on for almost three years now. I have picked her up and put her down many times over the course of these years. I am sure if I just sat down and focused solely on her she would have been complete by now! School had gotten in the way though and so have many other projects but here she is before I started stitching her the past two days:

I am taking her to Vancouver with me when we go to visit some family this weekend. Should get in a few good stitching sessions with my mom and auntie. Hopefully she will be all complete and ready to be washed by the time we get back...unless of course I somehow find a new project to stitch while I am away! Like Joan Elliott's Cinderella that my nan just so happened to buy for me and how I can go and buy all of the threads while visiting hehe!!

Mediterranean Mermaid Start

Here is my first 5 days of progress.  This is a fun design to stitch.  The fabric is 28 count opalescent lugana from Polstitches (the color is called Friendship).

Bluebeard's Mermaid

This was started as part of the Mirabilia Yuku board Mermaid SAL but I've thrown the rotation schedule in the bin and intend to keep stitching til she's done now!

I have stitched the top and the conch shell but it doesn't all fit on my scanner!  You can see how much bling there will be from the gaps.  I am currently stitching both seahorses then the border.  After that it'll be the metallic and the beads to finish.

The fabric is a 32 count Murano from The Crafty Kitten.

Fairy Flora

This is 3 more weeks of progress since the last time I posted Flora.  Most of that time was spent stitching variations of pink on her fairy gown.  There is still a long way to go but I am going to take a break from this piece for a while until she inspires me again.  Please visit me at The Mirabilia Stitcher.

Tracy's Progress on Lady Hera

I have some progress at last.  Here is my start on Lady Hera by Mirabilia.  I actually started this one on May 26th but was working on Fairy Flora until two days ago when I got up the motivation to change the colors of the yellow dress to gold.  I kept the ribbons the same color, I hope they will work with it.  This one is being stitched on Silkweaver Reflections, 32 count, Starquest.  If you would like my conversion for the dress, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. I don't have a lot of progress on Fairy Flora but wanted to share the little bit that I have made since the last post about her.

Jo's Rotation

Hey!  This is my post that went AWOL during the Friday 13th outage.  I found it lurking as a draft.  So here belatedly is my take on rotational stitching:

Okay just to be awkward - I do a rotation by the time of day!



Daytime is a simple project I can pick up and put down.  At the moment it's the Dark Alphabet.



Supervising small boy's bathtime I am currently stitching JE's Oriental Waving Cat from the WOCS free booklet.  (finished this now, doing PR Celebration Fairy)



Evening when boys are in bed is a big project.  Currently Mira's Bluebeard's Mermaid for one metric week (10 days) then a "can you tell what it is yet" project which I won't name as it'll spoil the guessing fun!

Have done two more letters since then but can't show a pic yet due to Blogger's temper tantrums.

Fairy Flora's Wings are Completed!

I am so relieved and happy to have the second wing accomplished!  Although it is hard to tell in the photo, the wings are filled with a metallic blend along with the floss.  The blending filament used in the wings caused this part to be a bear.  Word of advice: find an alternative to kreinik blending filament anytime it is called for in a chart you are stitching.  Almost every strand of blending filament breaks whilst stitching with it, even short strands and threading the needle with it is a test of patience.  Even the beading was a breeze in comparison.  Now that this part is accomplished, the rest is going to be smooth sailing.

The fabric is 32 count Silkweaver Reflections on lugana.  The color is called Enchantment.

Mostly Mermaids

Hi, my name is Tracy and I have been stitching for over 20 years but have been stitching large (Mirabilia's) projects for only 4 years.  I live in Phoenix, Arizona and it stays quite hot outdoors for about 6 months of the year.  I don't own a pool and I am a stay at home wife so that leaves a lot of time for indoor activities such as stitching.  I currently have so many framed pieces around my home that I don't know how much longer I can keep producing more of these.  The thing is that I fall in love with my finished works and never want to put them away.

So far, I have stitched 5 Mirabilia mermaids and 1 Passione Ricamo mermaid.  It wasn't that I was originally into mermaids but those were the designs that I liked best.  I am now stitching my first fairy, a large one, Fairy Flora also from Mirabilia.  My goal is to inspire and be a positive influence in the world of stitching.  I hope to get to know the members of this board and become good friends.
